Monique Aarts

Monique is an ecologist who graduated from the interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts and Science (BAS) program of the University of Guelph with specializations in Biology and Geography. Monique attained a post-graduate diploma in Ecosystem Management from Sir Sandford Fleming College.

Monique’s experience includes evaluating aquatic and terrestrial habitat for natural heritage features and to collect, manage and interpret field data from aquatic and terrestrial habitats. She specializes in the inventory, monitoring, research and recovery of wildlife, particularly species at risk reptiles.

Monique is conducting projects in river, wetland and upland habitats. Her other specializations include: grant writing, site mapping, and educational outreach. Monique has experience providing environmental educational presentations to campers, students, stewardship councils, and nature club members.
